Meet the Three Women
Food makes me happy. I come by that naturally, and I have the two women in this photo to thank for that. (By the way, what do you think about my '90s perm? Radical, right?)
I grew up in a household with my parents and grandparents, and although I didn’t appreciate it at the time, this really was an extraordinary experience for a child. In truth, my affinity for food and hospitality comes 100 percent from my mom, Katie, and grandma, Dorothy (on my left.) I called Grandma "Bubba." Sadly, I no longer have either of them with me.
But thanks to Mom and Bubba, I'm a passionate home cook and writer. In 2016, I wrote a book to help people find good chocolate in my home state of Missouri. After more than 30 years as a travel editor, I’ve retired to become the Earth Mother who feeds people comforting food and stories.
I'm working on a cookbook/food memoir about my family and the generations of wonderful meals they created. In this space, I want to share some of my family's wisdom and recipes, as well as the few things I’ve picked up along the way. So, let’s dish about good food, friends, and family.
