Meet the Three Women

Food makes me happy. I come by that naturally, and I have the two women in this photo to thank for that. (By the way, what do you think about my '90s perm? Radical, right?)

I grew up in a household with my parents and grandparents, and although I didn’t appreciate it at the time, this really was an extraordinary experience for a child. In truth, my affinity for food and hospitality comes 100 percent from my mom, Katie, and grandma, Dorothy (on my left.) I called Grandma "Bubba." Sadly, I no longer have either of them with me.

But thanks to Mom and Bubba, I'm a passionate home cook and writer. In 2016, I wrote a book to help people find good chocolate in my home state of Missouri. In 2020, after more than 30 years as a travel editor, I retired to become the Earth Mother who feeds people comforting food and stories. In 2021, I co-authored a book about Missouri's food history.

In this space, I want to share some of my family's wisdom and recipes, as well as introduce you to inspiring home cooks. The Three Women in the Kitchen cookbook shares stories about my family and our best recipes.

I've also developed recipes in partnership with St. Louis food-based businesses. I'm available to help your business with food or travel content. Drop me a message if you'd like more information.

Meanwhile, let's dish about food and family memories.
